About Pathways Counseling Center
Pathways Counseling Center provides biblically-based counseling for individuals dealing with issues such as loss, depression, anxiety, stress, anger, and marriage and family conflict. The professional counseling staff includes Pam Greene and Kathy Darnell. Pathways also has interns assisting our staff who are in their final semester of masters work who see clients under supervision, per university and L.P.C. requirements.

Pam Greene
Pam is a full time counselor and has served as the director of Pathways Counseling Center since 2003. Before becoming a therapist, Pam earned a master’s degree from (SWBTS) Seminary and served churches in Waco and Dallas. In 1994, she completed a master’s degree in counseling from D.B.U. and began counseling with Minirth-Meier Clinic, and later Meier Clinic where she worked for 7 years. Pam is a licensed professional counselor and an L.P.C.S. (supervisor). Pam counsels individuals, couples and children.

As a member of First Baptist, Dallas, Pam also enjoys the opportunity to assist ministries such as Celebrate Recovery and Peacemakers. From time to time, she teaches as an adjunct professor at Criswell College. Her first calling is to the Lord and her family. But, she does believe God has gifted and called her to be a Christian counselor. She is married to Tim Greene and they have three children: Kelly, Holly, and Hayden (the caboose!)

Kathy Darnell
Kathy is both the administrative assistant and a counselor for Pathways. She has a M.A. in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary and is currently working toward a D. Min. in Women’s Ministry. Kathy has been with Pathways for three years and especially enjoys counseling on women’s issues. She and her husband, Tim, have 3 children and one grandchild.

Katie Nieder
Katie is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Biblical Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary. She is in her final semester of course work. Katie has been interning at Pathways for the past several months, and so far she has found counseling to be an incredibly rewarding experience.

Pathways Counseling Center also serves as a resource center for marriage and family growth, including many books/media available to members and FBD clients. The staff and lay ministry team offer classes, seminars, and workshops throughout the year.

The Peacemakers ministry team is composed of qualified lay leaders who have extensive experience and training in the area of conflict resolution and reconciliation. These individuals serve as mentors and teachers, coaching those experiencing personal and marital conflict.

SURVIVING THE HOLIDAYS
The holidays can be a tough time...
While the stores are filled with every gift idea imaginable, and the radio plays those 'golden oldies' from now through New Years, Thanksgiving and Christmas bring mixed feelings for many of us. And, for those who have lost loved ones in recent times, the holidays are especially tough. For some, the very idea is enough to make them want to pull the covers over their heads and stay there until it's all over.

Pathways Counseling Center is sponsoring a new type of group called Surviving the Holidays. Our wonderful grief support group leaders have planned a one-meeting format and are offering it this Sunday, November 16th and again on December 7th. Attendees will meet in First Baptist's Criswell Center on the 5th floor at 3:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. But, the warmth and understanding of those who have gone through such painful times - and who want to help others by sharing helpful practical helps (including a special devotional booklet just for use during the holidays) and being there for them - will be the real blessing.

If you - or someone you know - have experienced the pain of losing a loved one in death and would like to come, please join us this Sunday for Surviving the Holidays. You will find encouragement and spiritual help that may make all the difference this holiday season. Consider this your open invitation!

For more information, call 214.969.2456.
